Liquid Spirit is a new venture in Torbay: a classy, pop-up night club for grown-ups. Expect good company, top notch food and drink, and a quality house band. We are excited to be holding the opening night at Royal Torbay Yacht club, with further events in the pipeline for 2019.

Music Tickets will be £10-12 on the door but be advised we are nearly SOLD OUT AND IS NOW STANDING ROOM ONLY

Dinner is served from the Yacht Club's kitchen 7pm-9pm. DINNER IS NOW SOLD OUT

Music will be from 8.30 onwards aided by the club's well stocked bar at reasonable prices.

The house trio consists of Tom Ball on piano and the powerhouse rhythm section of Kevin Sanders on bass and Nick Carter on drums. For this first event we welcome a very special guest, Martin Dale, a former Royal Marine bandmaster and considered by many to be the best tenor sax player in the South West. Martin was a member of the John Burch Octet, and is also a member of the London based groups “Sax Appeal” and "Jack Bruce Blues Experience".

Martin has played at venues all over the UK, including Ronnie Scotts Club, The 606, The Bull's Head in Barnes, Pizza Express Dean Street, The 100 Club and the Concord Club. Martin has also toured internationally and for a time worked on the Q.E.2 as lead alto player, backing such artists as Neil Sedaka, Petula Clark, and Tom Jones.

Martin’s Plymouth based band is in high demand and has worked with Jim Mullen, Roy Williams, Derek Nash, Dick Pearce, Bruce Adams, Digby Fairweather and the highly acclaimed Peter King to name a few. Martin has also worked with the 2008 X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke.

Martin has recorded for the BBC on radio and television sound tracks. To date he has released 8 albums, which have been played on Radio 2, Radio 3 and Jazz FM.
